Every pet sitting business can be structured slightly different when it comes to the length of time they offer your cats and the time they can show up. As soon as you know your dates, request care. Summer travel is our busiest time of year and also overlaps with several holidays.
Book earlier if you want Bed & Breakfast. Extended time blocks have limited availability and we want your kitty to have their favorite service.
Avoid last-minute changes if at all possible. Tighter schedules make it difficult to accomadate last minute changes.
Think about your cat's usual routine. Choose the schedule that keeps your cat's routine as close as possible (and choosing longer visit times, as much as you can, will help them relax even more)

On our cat sitting services page, we outline time blocks for twice-per-day clients and once-per-day clients. Twice-per-day visits fall into Morning and Evening time blocks, and once-per-day visits generally fall into our Flex time block. However, if you'd like a once a day visit at a particular time block, we can discuss that too.

A simple way to choose your schedule before you book

Here is a practical way to decide what your cat needs, before you request dates:

If you have one cat

Confident, healthy cats generally do well with once-per-day visits of various lengths and we've got you covered for it.
Many cats do best with two visits per day, especially on longer trips and if they are used to being served twice per day.

If you have multiple cats

More pets means longer visits are needed to care for them. At OPS we need time to observe each cat, confirm everyone is eating, and to keep litter routines consistent.
We also prioritize enrichment for our kitty clients and multi-cat homes often benefit from longer visits so we aren't rushed.

Service options that can make summer travel easier

Some cats do great with a standard 30 minute visit. Generally for 1-3 cats we can get their chores done in 15 minutes and have another 10 or so to spend providing them with enrichment. Others need more time, more consistency, or a little extra visibility around eating and litter habits. These options let us build the right plan for your cat.

Our Bed & Breakfast Service includes a 2-hour visit paired with a second visit, and is designed for cats who thrive on longer companionship and routine. Because extended time blocks are reserved for this service, availability is limited and early booking is recommended.

If your biggest stress is not knowing whether your shy cat ate or used the litter box, our cat sitting WhiskerCam service is a motion-activated webcam aimed at food or litter areas, with reporting alongside visit updates and optional live viewing.

Preparation: the small setup that makes everything smoother

Once you’re booked for cat sitting with us, a little prep makes the entire trip calmer.

Confirm your travel dates and if you're not already a client, set up your consultation as soon as possible.
Set out your pet supplies on a counter or table where it is easy for your sitters to find and also ensures they are using exactly what you want them to. (hide the flavors of cat food your cat hates haha!)
Leave notes if you'd like, but always make sure to update your online pet care portal. It's particularly helpful to know their most recent hiding spots, which doors must stay open, their new favorite toy, plants to water, or other routine changes.
Share vet info and an emergency contact who can make decisions if you cannot be reached.
Keep carriers accessible, just in case.
